Why are you part of AFCWA?
To give back to an organization that made me feel so welcomed when I was new, when I "first stepped on the field". I am so grateful that there is an organization that "gets me, gets us", I want to be in the middle of that in which "gets me" so I can embrace the understanding and support, wrap myself up in it and then pour it on out to others that need it too! We are one of a kind and I am ever so grateful to be a very small part of something wonderful that together we make a fellowship of like minded women walking through the same journey though our paths may look different, we are one.
What is your favorite AFCWA memory?
Hands down, there is no other than getting naked at the fashion show with my girls! I mean c'mon!!! What better way to meet your besties than to put a bunch of women who don't know each other in an open room with a designer clothes tell them to get dressed and walk the cat walk... have fun ladies! Good times! "Um, excuse me, can you zip this?" "Hey girl, can you button this?" "What do you think, is it ok" "I don't know, it is so not me" "Work it, girl!" These were all said back stage in Nashville 7 years ago when I volunteered at my very first AFCWA convention, who knew what I was getting myself into.... who knew I would be meeting some of the greatest women I would be serving with on the BOD with today! We sure had a great time and laughed and nothing brings you together like be your true self! I definitely try to live an authentic life and there you have it, nothing was more authentic than Nashville with these ladies and I wouldn't have changed a thing.... these women have changed my life! Love you all! xoxo
