AFCWA: Why are you in AFCWA?
Wendy: I was first introduced to the AFCWA by Mary Ramseyer (AFCWA
Trustee). She and her husband Bill have known my coach literally since he was born! As soon as I became Mrs. Coach Oliver, Mary started sharing with me about this wonderful organization specifically for coaches’ wives. I was a young wife, new to the whole coaching process, and didn’t really know up to that point that there was a great community available to me for support and
encouragement. It took me a few years to finally have the opportunity head to convention with Chris, but I instantly felt comfortable and connected with all the great ladies who greeted me when I arrived at the wives’ activities. I found that one of the best ways to meet new people and become connected was to volunteer and get involved (and have had tons of fun over the years in the process). Aside from convention, AFCWA has granted me the opportunity to connect with other wives throughout the
year as well. I’ve developed many friendships with women from all over the country via AFCWA and
love being involved in a community with other women who understand exactly what the coaching life
AFCWA: What do you do in your spare time?
Wendy: In my spare time, I like to read, travel, spend time with family, enjoy good food and good wine, take walks and be outdoors, and color for relaxation.
