Nancy Cubit
President, AFCWA
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW HER.
Nancy Cubit, born in Philadelphia, is wife of 28 years to
Stanford University quarterbacks coach Bill Cubit, mother
of three and the President of American Football Coaches Wives
Association for 2004.
Formed in 1989 by Patti Edwards, Ellie Mallory, Donell Teaff,
Dorothy Faye McClendon, Carol James and Janice Walden, the
AFCWA is a national organization that works in conjunction
with the American Football Coaches Association. Wives of these
great competitors have come together in an effort to support
and serve in their own communities and across the country.
Whether it is the NFL, NCAA, NAIA or countless junior college
and high school football programs around the country - these
ladies share a common bond that brings them all together.
The AFCWA currently has over 500 members, which will meet
January 4-7 in Orlando, Fla., for its annual convention held
simultaneously with the AFCA convention each year.
Between supporting Stanford University and Western Michigan
University, where her son Ryan is a freshman quarterback,
Nancy Cubit can be found at www.AFCWA.org encouraging coaches
wives at all levels.
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING:
"Camaraderie, service and support is the main goal
of the AFCWA. There are so many people out there that have
no clue as to what kind of hurdles coaches' families are faced
with. They think football coaches work only of Friday nights
of Saturday and Sunday afternoons and that's it. It is just
really a unique experience to meet new people that understand
the ups and downs of the business. The AFCWA is for wives
of coaches at all levels." - Nancy Cubit
